Name: WSPU Badge: (Reproduction) Intertwining Insignia
Item: 1 number (ONE badge supplied of) High Quality Modern Reproduction badge (with epoxy seal). WSPU (Women's Social and Political Union- The British Suffragettes organisation known as Women's Social and Political Union, headed by Mrs Emmeline (Emily) Pankhurst. Collectable modern limited edition replica of an original WSPU badge. The letters of the WSPU are intertwined, in a vibrant, blended shade of green on a cream background.
Size: 25mm (1 inch) diameter: Circular shape.
Materials: Vibrant colours, sealed with epoxy resin. Gold plated rim. Gold plated back and safety pin to rear for easy affixing to garments etc. Comes individually contained within a small plastic wrapper.
Condition: Mint condition. New Manufacture and unused.
Description: This design features the letters of the Women's Social and Political Union-the WSPU-intertwined within each other in a blended shade of green, with black outlining, on a cream background.
The original badge was distributed in 1909 and is thus a very early version of insignia used for the cause.
In recent auctions on eBay, an original of this badge has failed to reach the [unknown] reserve and auctions have ended at £420+ [around $700+ US dollars].
Please note that the badge itself is crystal clear and does NOT suffer from the pixelation/degradation that the photo's do: It is very tricky to photograph, and the quality of the photos do NOT represent the total beauty of the item, you will not be disappointed with it.
