Name: WSPU sewing buttons [Reproduction Edition]

Details: The first time that these extremely rare items have ever been reproduced as modern facsimiles. Originals are almost impossible to source, and a set are believed to be held in the Museum of London.

Item: 6 number (ONE design only exists; SIX number of that design are supplied) : Women's Suffrage : WSPU [Women's Social & Political Union] : High Quality Modern Reproduction sewing buttons, cream satin base with, 2 shades of green and 2 shades of purple utilised in the design [exactly as the originals].

PLEASE remember that although these are EXACT replicas, they are modern reproductions and NOT an original set of sewing buttons that would sell for thousands of pounds. Thank you.

Size: 21mm diameter, circular: The buttons are reproduced at the same size as the originals.

Condition: Mint condition. New Manufacture and unused. Sent within individual Polybag and well packaged for travel in the mail system.

Description:

These sewing buttons feature an insignia developed by the WSPU for promotional use during the women's suffrage campaign.

They are hand embroidered [NO computerised machines used, only traditional methods were used to make the buttons] on satin with silk thread used to form the design. Attached to a domed button, fully sealed in to the rear, with a good sized sewing 'tag' attachment to the rear for easy affixing to the garment of your choice.

The buttons are 21mm in diameter.

Painstakingly reproduced, each button is a masterpiece of human ingenuity and a true example of craftsmanship, patience and devotion to the art.
